History of Google Sites:
Google Sites started out as Jotspot, a software company that offered enterprise social software. The product was targeted mainly to small-sized and medium-sized businesses. The company was founded by Joe Kraus and Graham Spencer, co-founders of Excite.
What Google Sites really are:
Google sites is accessible and easy to use for people who need quick, up-to-date information. People can work together on a site to add file attachments, information from other Google applications (like Google Docs, Google Calendar, and Youtube), and new free-form content. When creating a site, you always control who has access, whether it's just yourself, your team, or your whole organization. You are also able to publish sites to the whole world. You can create a network of sites and publish them both inside and outside of domain.
What you can do with Google Sites:
• Plan club meetings and activities
• Share information on a secure company interent
• Collaborate on a team project
• Stay Connected with family members
